Produce Safety Alliance Program
The Brock Center is proud to be part of a USDA-funded, interdisciplinary team of faculty experts from Cal Poly and Allan Hancock College working to aid small farmers in improving food safety efforts. Student associates from the Brock Center provide communication materials and digital content support for the project, in addition to assistance in developing food safety crisis communication materials for use in project training.
Brock Center Promotional Videos
What is the Brock Center? What do we do? What's life like as a student employee? Our Associate team is hard at work preparing videos that will answer these questions and more!
AgCircle Magazine, created by Cal Poly students and published twice a year features stories, photo essays, and other content to share stories of agriculture, food, and environmental sciences in California and beyond.
During the shift to virtual learning that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic, career exploration – especially important in high school agriculture programs – became difficult to incorporate into classrooms. Through a grant-funded opportunity with Agricultural Education & Communication department faculty member Erin Gorter, the Brock Center worked to produce 30-minute interviews from Gorter’s conversations with professionals in agricultural careers. The AgSnacc Podcast and accompanying curriculum materials are available at the student associate-created website https://www.agsnacc.com/
Avocado Field Day - Informational Videos
Led by Dr. Moses Mike, assistant professor in Agricultural Communication, Brock Center student associates worked with the Cal Poly Center for Sustainability’s interim director Claire Balint and faculty from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly to create videos for use in the virtual field day presentation. Fall Family Photos
Our photographers had so much fun capturing these special moments for families! Each November, Brock Center associates put their photography skills to use in photo sessions available to members of the Cal Poly community.
