Produce Safety Alliance Program

spring 2021

The Brock Center is proud to be part of a USDA-funded, interdisciplinary team of faculty experts from Cal Poly and Allan Hancock College working to aid small farmers in improving food safety efforts. Student associates from the Brock Center provide communication materials and digital content support for the project, in addition to assistance in developing food safety crisis communication materials for use in project training.

AgSnacc Podcast

During the shift to virtual learning that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic, career exploration – especially important in high school agriculture programs – became difficult to incorporate into classrooms. Through a grant-funded opportunity with Agricultural Education & Communication department faculty member Erin Gorter, the Brock Center worked to produce 30-minute interviews from Gorter’s conversations with professionals in agricultural careers. Avocado Field Day - Informational Videos

WInter 2021

Led by Dr. Moses Mike, assistant professor in Agricultural Communication, Brock Center student associates worked with the Cal Poly Center for Sustainability’s interim director Claire Balint and faculty from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at Cal Poly to create videos for use in the virtual field day presentation.
